We’re passionate about helping you and your dog grow and making an impact that will last a lifetime.

Meet Alicia Mann

For as long as I can remember I had an affinity for animals. Nothing could stop me from gravitating to them. Throughout my life I have had a plethora of critters ranging from bugs, reptiles, amphibians, hamsters, rats, hedgehogs, ferrets, cats, rabbits, dogs, and birds. I enjoy all animals, though, and have a little experience with farm animals. A fond memory, was a friend of mine had a Billy goat and I would play headbutting games with him.

Overall, I have a big heard for animals, and when they’re in my care I treat them as though they were my own and even though I absolutely adore animals, I love people with the same care. We all deserve the same compassion that us animals lovers give the animals. So when you become a client of mine, you’re not just a client. You’re family. When you sign up for my services understand that I may be a business and I will run my numbers accordingly, but you will not be disregarded or treated as a number. I conduct myself with a level of professionalism, but if you’re having a bad day or are stressed I will not ignore that. You can talk to me, I will listen and if you need a hug, I will give you a hug. If you don’t like hugs, don’t worry, I won’t be offended, but I am more than willing to give you a shoulder to cry on. It wouldn’t be the first, and I know it won’t be that last. I have a heart to heart approach to my work. I am a follower of Jesus and therefore I take God’s word to heart. I will not judge you or shame you. I will be understanding and empathetic. I will not give you unsolicited advice, except when it comes to your pets. You’re paying me for their care and my advice comes with that care. Whether it be dog nutrition, training, or grooming.

I have a big heart and a sense of humor when you get to know me. I have been dog grooming since 2010 and dog training actually since I was 9 years old, but professionally since 2008.

When I work with your pets, whether that is grooming or training, communication is key. I work with your pet. I am not about dominating your pet, or having you dominate them. I am about building a relationship and communication between pet and human. That is how we can have a fruitful and healthy relationship; through understanding and mutual respect. But please note, I have no problem with ‘putting the hammer down’ when a dog is completely disrespectful. I utilize all four quadrants of operant conditioning, and my methods rely heavily on the psychological approach to communicate and train, both for grooming and for training.

Thank you for taking the time to read my about page. I hope to see you in the future!

Special mention: With training and grooming (and as a helper, in general) my husband does aid me from time to time, he is also very awesome, he is just shy and to honor his wishes, I did not put him on the website. So when you see the word ‘we’, know I am also including my very kind and supportive husband. He loves animals almost as much as I do, and all further education programs I go to, he tends to go. He is almost as knowledgeable as I am when it comes bathing techniques, grooming procedures and canine behavior and training.
